Certified Early Childhood Special Education Teacher
- Position Class: Non-exempt, $20.00 per hour, full benefits
- Average hours per week: 40

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing direct supervision and teaching children 18 month to 5 years old. In addition, the Certified Early Childhood Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing and updating the Individual Education Plans (IEP) of children diagnosed with autism.
Essential Job Duties:
- Collaborate with instructional team in the development and implementation of all classroom functions and instructions
- Responsible for overseeing and managing IEPs for all children with autism.
- Supervise and interact with all children throughout the day; Support children in social and academic interactions as determined by their IEP and individual goals; work at the child’s level (on floor and low tables) and engage in appropriate activities
- Work in cooperation with teachers, director and therapists to develop , plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of each child and stimulates learning in all developmental areas
- Learn and implement current theories of working with children with autism, including but not limited to floortime, DTT, PECS, incidental teaching and developmentally appropriate practices
- Complete all classroom paperwork and data, including daily parent communication notes, accident reports, attendance records, anecdotal records, children’s files, etc.
- Assist in training new staff by modeling and explaining techniques and giving feedback in a positive manner
- Communicate appropriate information to parents and staff on a daily basis
- Relate observations of children to parents in a professional, positive manner
Education/Knowledge/Skills:
- State of Arizona Early Childhood Special Education Certification
- BA Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field
- Meet and maintain all state requirements and follow quality standards for state licensing
- Develop and maintain positive and professional team relationship and work collaboratively within the team
Experience:
- Minimum: Two (2) years experience working in a preschool setting.
- Preferred: Two (2) years teaching experience in an Early Childhood/preschool setting and two (2) years experience with special needs children, preferably autism.

Speech-Language Pathologist
- Position Class: Exempt, Salary Commensurate with Experience, full benefits

Position Summary:
This position is responsible to provide individual and/or classroom-based speech therapy, conduct speech and language evaluations, provide parent training, consult and support SARRC programs concerning the speech needs of the children in those programs and participate in research assessments as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Providing individual and classroom-based therapy sessions to promote receptive and expressive language skills in children with autism.
- Working with other SARRC therapists delivering other services to ensure that best practices are delivered in all programs and that the coordination of speech interventions maximizes the potential of each individual with autism.
- Overseeing child and family assessment processes.
- Assisting in the development of research projects as needed.
Education/Knowledge/Skills:
- Master's Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences or other related degree required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence required
- Arizona state licensure required
- Bilingual preferred
Experience:
- Experience writing goals and implementing evidence-based interventions including ABA, PRT, and/or PECS.
- Experience with a variety of evaluation tools for children ranging in age from 12 months to 22 years old preferred.
- Previous research experience, including familiarity with ADOS, ADI-R, Vineland, Peabody testing required.
- Two or more year's autism experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently.

CommunityWorks Program Facilitator
- Position Class: Part-time, $10 to $14/hour
- Average hours per week: 6 to 15 hours per week
- Reports to: Community Works Program Coordinator
- Department/Program Area: Vocational
Position Summary: Work within the community at various sites such as: Phoenix Zoo, Library, Science Center and Botanical Gardens to set up work environments for teens diagnosed with ASD and neuro-typical teens. Responsible for contributing to the work environment, supervision of teens, organizing and managing worksites, as well as schedules. Serve as a liaison between typical developing teens and teens with ASD and community worksite staff.
Essential Job Duties:
- Implement use of current intervention strategies (i.e. Discrete Trial Teaching, Pivotal Response Treatment, Picture Exchange Communication, Positive Behavior Support)
- Participate and oversee a group of six participants with several rotations
- Work in collaboration with staff to create a safe, active and positive work environment
- Preparation of worksite for readiness of participant's job duties
- Participation and preparation of staff meetings and trainings
- Accurately complete daily paperwork and schedule organization
Education/Knowledge/Skills:
- Education: Associate's degree or 60 credit hours in psychology, social services, education, vocational rehabilitation or related field

Habilitator for Clients with ASDs (Autism Spectrum Disorders)
- Position Class: Non-exempt, $10 to $11.50 per hour, DOE
- Part-time and Full-time positions available
- Benefits: Dependent on hours worked per week
Position Summary: Implement 1:1 direct therapy within home and community based settings for children with ASD. Participate in a program that provides instruction on Applied Behavior Analysis, discrete trial teaching techniques, management of maladaptive behaviors, social skills development and data collection techniques. Evening and weekend hours are required in most cases.
Essential Job Duties:
- Preparation of room for readiness of one-on-one sessions; cleanup.
- Implement current intervention strategies (i.e. DTT, PRT, PECS, Positive Behavior Support, token economy, if/then, etc...)
- Work in collaboration with staff to create a safe, child-oriented, active, positive environment for children.

- Attend and participate in Tune-up meetings. Continue training throughout employment and receive ongoing supervision.

- Minimum: GED or High School Diploma.
- Preferred: AA degree or 12 units of Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, Psychology, Human Development or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum: Six months experience working with children with ASD. Preschool experience a plus. Knowledge of development disabilities.
- Preferred: One + years' experience working in the behavioral field and experience implementing behavioral interventions, i.e.: DTT, PRT, PECS, etc.

Position Summary: Work within home and community settings to implement Applied Behavior Analysis and other behavioral modification techniques and strategies to teach children with ASD. Responsible for contributing to a child's program needs, updating the log book, updating maintenance book and implementing curriculum. Serve as a liaison between parents and the SARRC Program Management staff; utilizing skills as effective communicators and behaviorists to manage concerns to ensure consistency among the entire treatment staff. Evening and weekend hours are required in most cases.
Essential Job Duties:
- Preparation of room for readiness of one-on-one sessions; cleanup.
- Implement current intervention strategies (i.e. DTT, PRT, PECS, Positive Behavior Support, token economy, if/then, etc.)

SARRC Clinical Interventionist

Position Summary: To provide intervention therapy to children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Intervention therapy may be delivered in any of the following formats: a) 1:1 or group intervention therapy delivered in a home and/or community setting; b) parent training in intervention therapy; c) intervention therapy delivered in a classroom context. Intervention therapy and training should be consistent with the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), including Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Discrete Trial Training (DTT).
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide client and/or parent training in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) interventions, including Pivotal Response Treatment and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
- Collect data, creates graph, conduct assessments, write reports and maintain files.
- Learn and implement current intervention strategies in the classroom and home setting (i.e. DTT, PRT, PECS, Incidental Teaching, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with staff to create a safe child-oriented, active, positive environment for children.

Education/Knowledge/Skills:
- Education: BA degree in psychology, education, special education, sociology or related field.
- Able to understand and demonstrate the use of Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) preferred
- Familiar with and able to work with standardized assessments such as Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT), Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (VABS), Expressive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (EOWPVT) and Receptive One-Word Picture Vocabulary Test (ROWPVT).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Community School Director
- Regular schedule: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Position Summary: In this key role you will manage the Community School, including toddler and preschool classrooms, with a model program for both children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and typically developing children. Manage up to 10 clinical interventionists and teachers and provide them with clinical supervision; ensure a safe and positive environment for children’s educational and emotional development; set goals for the school's growth; manage its budget and grants; collaborate on fundraising and community relations; help obtain new accreditations and licensing; develop new programs for early childhood development; and collaborate on research projects aimed at developing best new treatments for children with ASD.
Essential Job Duties:
- Set goals for the Community School and ensure their achievement
- Collaborate with team to develop curricula that meet the needs of all children, including those with ASD
- Provide effective leadership and competencies to build infrastructure and programs for early childhood development, including children with ASD
- Manage a sizeable budget and grants and participate in fundraising
- Work in collaboration with staff and external contacts to obtain new accreditations, such as NAEYC, and licensing opportunities
- Effectively lead a team of clinical interventionists and teachers
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members
Education/Knowledge/Skills:
- Masters degree in psychology, education, special education, sociology or related field
- Five to 10 years of clinical and leadership experience in an early childhood or pre-school setting, including children with ASD
