SARRC's research brings together many methods and scientists in an effort to gain a greater understanding of possible causes of autism, identify better treatments, learn how to prevent it and ultimately find a cure for those affected by ASDs. We believe that collaboration among researchers is important to help us answer some of the essential questions facing individuals, families and the greater community. SARRC's research team is led by Christopher Smith, Ph.D., an experimental psychologist with an expertise in the diagnosis of autism for genetic research. As Vice President/Research Director, Dr. Smith is developing a large-scale autism family study to aid in the identification of genes that are associated with this complex disorder.
Research Participation
If you're interested in having your child or family participate in any of SARRC's research studies, please contact one of our research coordinators. SARRC recruits both children with autism and typically developing children (control subjects) for research studies.
